Since the early days at Kraken, we have considered long-term and short-term strategies to manage emissions. We understand that how we conduct our operations matters. We value hard work through good practices, accountability, innovation, ethical conduct, and environmental stewardship in the quest for profitability.
Kraken’s vision goes beyond statutory and regulatory requirements and emphasizes the steps necessary to improve the quality of life for our employees, our families, our communities, our shareholders, and society. By developing and delivering sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable energy, we help reduce energy poverty and enable the improvements necessary to increase life expectancy and overall wellbeing around the world. It is noble work, often under appreciated, but one we are happy and proud to perform.
Continual Improvement and Sustainability
The most effective way to lower our emissions intensity is to minimize the potential for GHG emissions in our operations. In practice, this means taking a proactive approach to resource development to integrate gas conservation and commercialization. By capturing these emissions, not only do we lower our GHG intensity, but we provide more natural gas to market for society’s beneficial use.
Great change is made through small steps. Small steps are the goal and the approach to tackle the challenges – at Kraken, we take small, organized, and consistent steps to review and implement change. This is the philosophy of our approach and how we manage emissions near-term and long-term.
Safety Performance
Our relentless focus on safe operations continues to yield strong results. We bucket our efforts into preparation, execution, audit, analysis, and improvement. We employ extensive training to prepare our employees and contractors. Prior to work, we conduct job safety analysis to help us execute safely. We employ a third-party safety provider to perform random, daily audits of our operations. We also utilize contractor management software to help us audit contractor insurance coverage and safety performance. If we ever do have a serious safety incident, we perform a root cause analysis to better understand how to eliminate the cause. A culture of continuous improvement is key in our ever-evolving industry.
Through our active outreach with contractors and service companies we have made clear our commitment to safe operations. We require that our contractors and service companies share this commitment.
Community
Kraken strives to be active and productive in the communities in which we live and work. We strongly believe in being a good neighbor and living by the golden rule—do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Our community involvement has taken many different forms over the years. From sponsorship of the rodeo at the county fair to participation in local meetings to hear community concerns, Kraken is engaged.
Additional community involvement includes:

- Going the extra mile to ensure our operations do not adversely impact surface owners
